Four editions, one pipeline

Singapore launched the Youth Olympic Games in 2010. Triathlon has been part of the programme from day one.

One of the most prestigious sporting stages in the world.

Every four years, the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) gives emerging international athletes aged 15–18 the opportunity to cut their racing teeth on one of the most prestigious sporting stages in the world and experience the magic and power of the Olympic movement first hand.

The first YOG took place in Singapore in 2010, where the women's triathlon event awarded the very first Youth Olympics medal of all time. That was followed by Nanjing (CHN) in 2014 and Argentina (ARG) in 2018. The fourth edition will be held in Dakar, making Senegal the first African country ever to host an official Olympic event.

Yuka Sato (JPN), Brittany Dutton (AUS) and Amber Schlebusch (RSA) are the three individual women champions to date, with Aaron Barclay (NZL), Ben Dijkstra (GBR) and Dylan McCullough (NZL) winning on the men's side. Team Europe has won all three Mixed Relay golds.
