Triathlon competition at the Olympics has delivered another nailbiting finish, as Great Britain's Ben Dijkstra was crowned Youth Olympic Champion in a photo finish from New Zealand's Daniel Hoy in Nanjing.

Australia’s Brittany Dutton crushed the women’s field to take the tape by over half a minute from USA’s Stephanie Jenks. In contrast, the men’s race saw a thrilling sprint finish between Ben Dijkstra (GBR) and Daniel Hoy (NZL), with the Brit winning by a whisker before going on to help Europe win the Mixed Team Relay along with teammates Kristin Ranwig (GER), Emil Deleuran Hansen (DEN) and Emilie Morier (FRA).
