Frequently Asked Questions about Volunteering at the 2026 World Triathlon Championship Finals Pontevedra

Registration
It’s very easy. To register, simply click on this link and create an Ofivol account if you don’t already have one; you can then sign up for the event: Go to the registration form here: https://ofivol.org/en/final-series-mundiales/

If I’ve already volunteered at other sporting events, do I still need to fill in the form?
Yes, because it will help us update our databases and organise ourselves better by knowing your availability, the areas in which you wish to participate, any changes to your personal details, etc.

What is the minimum age for volunteering?
From 16 years of age on the dates of the event (with a signed parental consent form, which is included in the official registration form), up to 99 years of age.

In some cases, those aged 14 to 15 may participate, provided they carry out their duties accompanied by a legal guardian, who is also volunteering and is registered in the 2026 World Triathlon Championship Finals Pontevedra volunteer program.

How do I complete the official registration form?
If you are of legal age, you can simply complete the form. If you are aged between 16 and 18, you must provide authorisation from your mother, father, or legal guardian, which you will find once you have created your account in Ofivol.

If I don’t live in Pontevedra city, can I still volunteer?
Of course, anyone who wants to help is welcome.

It’s been a while since I signed up as a volunteer for the event and I haven’t heard from the organisers yet… What should I do?
Although we will contact you as soon as possible, if you notice that time has passed and we haven’t (likely due to an administrative error), you can contact us via email: ofivol@ofivol.org

What role will I have or be able to take on?
Depending on your profile, your interests and the organisation’s needs, you can choose from a variety of roles across different areas: accreditation and administration, logistics, race management, protocol, etc.

What rights do I have when volunteering for this sporting event?
To receive compulsory general training, voluntary training and role-specific training within the volunteer programme’s organisational structure; to receive the necessary equipment for your role; to be covered by civil liability and accident insurance; receive coordination, support and guidance in your role, receive the official volunteer kit and accreditation, take part in the special programme of activities for volunteers during the 2026 World Triathlon Championship Finals Pontevedra, access areas reserved for volunteers, receive a certificate of your participation as a volunteer and be able to take part in the various parallel activities (such as the festivities, parade of nations, concerts, etc. ) held during the sporting event and, above all, to be part of the world’s most important triathlon event.

What are my responsibilities when volunteering for this sporting event?
To strictly adhere to the timetables set by the organisers.
To carry out the assigned voluntary role to the best of your ability.
To take care of the equipment provided by the organisers.
To help ensure that the Championship, the entire organisation and the city of Pontevedra are remembered with the greatest possible affection, kindness and goodwill by the thousands of visitors.

If I have any further queries, how can I get in touch?
If you have any further queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at: ofivol@ofivol.org

What training course do I need to complete?
The compulsory training course will help us acquire the basic knowledge necessary to carry out our tasks satisfactorily. In addition to general training on the competition, in some cases there will be specific training on the area you have chosen or been assigned to.

Is attendance at the course compulsory?
Yes, it is essential for anyone wishing to take part in the Championship’s volunteering scheme.

To make it easier for you to attend, we will offer a choice of several dates, which will be communicated primarily by email.

We will also consider any inability to attend due to reasons such as where you live, family commitments, work commitments, etc. In such cases, once the face-to-face training sessions have finished, we will send you the training materials by email and other online communications.

If I am unable to attend, can I still take part in the volunteer program?
As mentioned above, if for reasons beyond your control you are unable to attend any of the dates offered, please contact us at: ofivol@ofivol.org and we will try to resolve the issue.

When should I collect my accreditation and uniform?
Both your accreditation and uniform must be collected once the training course has been completed. You will receive further information on the day of the course or be notified by email or other means, and there will be different collection times available.
