Abu Dhabi has hosted the opening race of the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) since 2016. The event welcomes a vibrant programme of triathlon and running community races, as well as elite and elite para racing. The event is hosted on Hudayriyat Island - a premier destination for endurance events, offering world-class infrastructure built for both performance and spectator experience, alongside a host of accommodation options. 

EVENT UPDATE: The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in collaboration with World Triathlon, has announced the postponement of all events scheduled on Sunday 29 March as part of the World Triathlon Championship Abu Dhabi 2026, due to forecasted adverse weather conditions.

This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure, with the safety of all participants, spectators and staff remaining the highest priority for event organisers.
