QNB Asia Triathlon Cup Doha 2021

Welcome to Lusail City, State of Qatar!

Lusail City is Qatar’s ultra-modern new city on the Arabian Gulf coast. After swimming in the blue waters of its marina, athletes will take to a bike course surrounded by spectacular architecture such as the stadium which will host the Fifa 2022 World Cup finals. Your race is completed by a flat fast run around the marina.
We would like to reassure you that COVID-19 case rates in our country have been at a low level for a long time and we have suppressed a third wave through extremely high vaccination rates and public adherence to precautions. Qatar has also successfully continued to host major international competitions in 2020/21. We expect that November’s Asian Cup will go ahead as planned.
Doha is a compact city with fast transport links. The event hotels are located just 20 minutes from Hamad International Airport and the venue is 10 minutes drive from the hotels.

Qatar Triathlon Federation looks forward to providing a safe and competitive race for the World’s elite triathletes.

The LOC will operate a bubble system that will permit even unvaccinated athletes to enter the country. To learn more about COVID-19 restrictions, testing requirements, and how we will facilitate the participation of overseas competitors, officials, and support staff, please read the attached document [Entry to Qatar & Covid-19 Information for Athletes and Officials].

To maintain the bubble and ensure the safety of athletes, a maximum of 100 entries are available (50 male, 50 female).

Pre-Participation Examination (PPE) should be submitted using the Word Triathlon System by each individual. More information here: https://triathlon.org/pre_event_covid_19_screening_guide

Athletes who need to do a PCR test before traveling back to their home countries should inform us in advance. (Inform our contact person for appointments if needed). Cost: 250 QAR per single test. Results will be available in 24 hours.
